Open Meetings are held to allow the commissioners to discuss with each other and/or make decisions on substantive matters in a public meeting. Regularly scheduled Open Meetings are held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Subscribing to the KCC Open Meetings notification mail list will provide you with notice listing topics up for discussion or decision. Notice is not sent for routine items. If there are no matters that need to be brought before the Commission for discussion, or a majority of a quorum of the commissioners (2 of the 3) will not be available for a particular meeting, it will be cancelled and notice will be sent as far in advance as possible.

An Open Meeting is not a hearing; the public, parties to a docket and their counsel are welcome to attend but shall not expect to address the Commission. Participation by telephone in an Open Meeting is not permitted. The Open Meetings are not transcribed, recorded or broadcast.
